Chandrika Meeten
Play Therapist and Clinical Supervisor

M.A. (Play Therapy), PG Dip. (Play Therapy), B.A. (English), BPS Certificate Clinical Supervision, Full BAPT membership.

Obtaining my PG Diploma in Play Therapy in 2006 and Masters degree in 2008, I worked within a therapy service in Liverpool supporting children and families through individual therapy sessions, delivery of group sessions in schools and working with parents and foster carers using therapeutic methods to build attachments.

In 2008, I began offering private play therapy services in Merseyside and Cheshire and am now solely based in a therapy suite in Hoylake, Wirral.

Over the years I have worked with different organisations supporting children and families through loss/bereavement,  post-adoption, attachment disorders, trauma, emotional de-regulation, anxiety, and various challenging circumstances.

I use a non-directive client centred method; employing a psychodynamic approach with emphasis on the client's abilities and strengths.

I have experience of delivering training for parents/carers and other professionals. I have facilitated support for parents, training for foster carers, schools, learning mentors and educational psychologists around topics such as child development, attachment theory, play development, child behavioural support, as well as the importance of understanding play and employing effective play strategies.

In addition I have a BPS qualification in Clinical Supervision and currently offer regular clinical supervision privately for qualified play therapists. I am registered as a BAPT approved Supervisor.

I have a current DBS, Professional Liabilities Insurance and am a full member of the British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT).
